CultureOwl Public Benefit Corporation Charter

Mission: CultureOwl expands access to culture by connecting the arts community with audiences who crave purpose and connection.

Purpose: Strengthening the cultural ecosystem through visibility and public good.

CultureOwl is a Public Benefit Corporation, fully committed to strengthening the cultural ecosystem.

Our mission is to expand access to arts and culture while supporting artists, nonprofit organizations, and creative communities. We measure success not only through financial performance, but through the real public impact we create—helping culture thrive more visibly, more equitably, and more sustainably.

As a Public Benefit Corporation, CultureOwl is legally structured to consider social impact alongside long-term accountability. This ensures our mission remains central to every decision we make, from how we build our platform to how we serve the arts community.

This Charter outlines the values and commitments that guide our work. We share regular Public Benefit updates to document how CultureOwl is advancing access, visibility, and long-term sustainability for the arts.

1

Mission and Public Purpose

CultureOwl expands access to culture by connecting the arts community with audiences who crave purpose and connection. Our purpose is simple and unwavering: strengthening the cultural ecosystem through visibility and public good.

2

Built for the Arts Community

CultureOwl exists to support cultural producers and cultural organizations with tools designed for real-world arts constraints—not commercial scale. We operate as an extension of the arts community, not an extraction layer on top of it.

3

Culture Without Excessive Fees

Access to culture is not diminished by excessive ticketing, 'convenience,' or marketing fees that divert resources away from the arts. Cultural organizations keep more of what they earn, sustaining the work that communities rely on.

4

Arts as Civic Infrastructure

The arts are fundamental to community life. They reflect our diversity, fuel local economies, create jobs, and give neighborhoods their voice and identity. CultureOwl treats culture as essential infrastructure—not a luxury marketplace.

5

Discovery Beyond Transaction

CultureOwl challenges the status quo of cultural event discovery. We advance cultural engagement through context-driven discovery, not solely through transactional access.

6

Shared Stewardship Over Misaligned Incentives

CultureOwl strengthens the cultural ecosystem through shared stewardship, not misaligned investment. We invite individuals, supporters, and communities to participate in advancing cultural access and sustainability.

7

Democratizing Access: A Culture of Culture

CultureOwl supports nonprofit cultural organizations by lowering barriers to participation and cultivating a community with a deeper love for the arts. We democratize the arts by building for the cultural community, sustained by the audiences who back this project and show up for culture. Our mission is not diluted by misaligned investment.

8

Accountability as a Public Benefit Corporation

As a Public Benefit Corporation, doing good is written into our charter and reflected in how we operate. We measure success not only through financial performance, but through lasting impact for the arts community and the public it serves.

Hold Us Accountable

If we fail to uphold these commitments, we want to hear from you. Public benefit status means public accountability. Review our annual reports, submit feedback, and help us stay true to this charter.

We will deliver a benefit statement annually that will measure the results of our efforts to promote these public benefits.
