Join us on Thursday, August 29th for an extraordinary evening celebrating the works of Edison Peñafiel and Amanda Linares.
Edison Peñafiel, originally from Ecuador and a 2016 graduate of Florida International University's Fine Arts program, has made a mark with his large-scale, site-specific, and immersive installations. His projects have been showcased at prestigious venues such as The Bass Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, the Orlando Museum of Art, and the Contemporary Art Center New Orleans. He is a recipient of numerous accolades, including the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Award and the Florida Prize in Contemporary Art.
Amanda Linares, a Cuban-born visual artist living in Miami, employs a diverse array of media, from design and drawing to installation and photography. Influenced by literature and spatial awareness, her work poetically explores themes of identity, displacement, and reconnection through reflection, transparency, and found objects. A graduate of the New World School of the Arts and a resident artist at the Bakehouse Art Complex, Linares continues to push boundaries in contemporary art.
This event promises an inspiring exploration of contemporary narratives and artistic expression. Don't miss the chance to experience the unique perspectives of these two remarkable artists!
