120 years after its first performance on stage in Vienna, Franz Lehár's The Merry Widow returns to Miami’s stages. Adaptation by Manny Albelo along with a stellar cast.

The Merry Widow is not a play to be taken too seriously, which makes it even more enjoyable. Irreverent and glamorous, this operetta feels like one celebration after another, filled with music, dance, and fun—even featuring a can-can dance! There is neither death nor tragedy in this piece. And although the political fate of an entire nation is at stake, it is the fun and entertainment that take center stage in this story.

The Merry Widow, an adaptation of the famous musical by Franz Léhar. Twenty million francs inherited by Anne of Glavary from her late husband will be the reason for the Ambassador's efforts to marry the Widow to Count Danilo, a young Pontevedra playboy famous in Paris, especially among the dancers at the Restaurant Maxim, in order to avoid the bankruptcy of his country's bank. La Viuda Alegre no es una obra para ser tomada en serio, y por ello se disfruta todavía más de ella. Irreverente y con glamour, esta comedia lírica es como una fiesta tras otra, llena de música, baile y diversión; ¡incluso hay un baile de cancán! No hay ni muerte ni tragedia en esta obra.
