"La Sylphide" tells the story of a Scotsman named James, who wakes from a dream on the morning of his wedding to see a beautiful winged slyph. Elusive and playful, she professes her love for him. James’ obsessive pursuit of the otherworldly creature leads him to abandon his fiancée and follow the sylph into the dangerous realm of the forest sprites, where he realizes that in reaching for an unobtainable love, he has lost everything.
