Celebrate Black History Month at CFA Wesley Chapel with a performance of "Finding North" by RainArt Productions. This one-man play brings to life the powerful stories of the strivings, sacrifices and dreams of John P. Parker, a former enslaved man who dedicated his life to helping other enslaved people escape through the Underground Railroad. Drawn from historical research, Parker’s tale is woven together with live music and interviews from contemporary immigrants who tell their stories of searching for haven in modern-day America. Written by David Gonzalez, performed by Daniel Carlton, this production is both an exploration and celebration of the continuing quest for justice and freedom in America.
Please note, this is event is for Middle/High School students and up, and includes discussion of sensitive themes including slavery, racism, and descriptions of violence.
