Festivals are a fun day or night out. There is a festival for everything; art, music, film, food, you name it. Whatever your passion, there is a festival for it. We have picked some festivals in all 4 of CultureOwl's markets. Peruse at your leisure and plan to attend some. Find something outside of your area? Plan a trip! Art Palm Beach - Palm Beach
The Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair, hosted by Art Miami, takes place at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in March. This is the most prominent fair taking place in Palm Beach during the winter season as it brings a respected group of art dealers. Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary provides a fresh opportunity for collectors, and art lovers to acquire important never-before-exhibited works from both the primary and secondary markets presented in an intimate setting.
Atlanta Black Theater Festival - Atlanta
The Atlanta Black Theatre Festival, popularly known as the festival of "40 plays in four days", packs in a varied selection of plays and performances, with a particular focus on African-American life and the preservation of culture. Dining, workshops, family activities and unique vendors are also part of this 4 day community festival in September.
Atlanta Jazz Festival - Atlanta
In May is the Atlanta Jazz Festival! This annual musical showcase celebrates jazz legends as well as up and coming musicians throughout the entire month of May in various venues around Atlanta. Prepare to spend your Memorial Day weekend with show-stopping performances at Piedmont Park. This is one event you do not want to miss.
Boca Bacchanal - Palm Beach
Calling all foodies and wine connoisseurs! The Boca Bacchanal Wine & Food Festival, hosted by Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum’s is back each May with new wines, new food and new ways to make the most out of Bacchanal weekend! It’s a one-of-a-kind event that is held in beautiful private homes or historic locations throughout Boca Raton. They pair the talents of internationally acclaimed vintners and chefs for an intimate, 5-course VIP dining experience. A Grand Tasting with the best selections of wines and champagnes, followed by signature dishes created by local chefs and restaurants.
Chalktoberfest Chalk Art & Craft Beer Festival - Atlanta
October in Atlanta has the perfect weather to enjoy watching professional Chalk Artists chalk the streets, some craft beer sampling, live music from local artists, and eating great food at the beautiful downtown square of Marietta. Right in the heart of historic Marietta, this event features more than 80 professional chalk artists, over 40 breweries, more than 120 types of craft beer, and 20 plus varieties of wine.
Fantasy Fest - Miami / Ft. Lauderdale
Key West Fantasy Fest! America’s most free-for-all hedonistic party for those 20, 40, 60, or 80. While the roots of the event match Key West’s LGBTQ+ demographic, it still adds a spicy twist to the affair. Every year they are attracted by the combination of balls, costume competitions, body painting, homemade bikini contests, and the infamous camp parade where people just let it all hang out, literally. This is definitely an experience you’d want to add to your bucket list.
Festival of the Arts Boca - Palm Beach
Festival of the Arts BOCA happens in March. This extraordinary, multi-day cultural arts event brings excitement and new experiences to The Palm Beaches. It features several of the world's most sought-after classical and contemporary performers, as well as award-winning authors and speakers, cirque performances, story slams, and film screenings.
Florida Renaissance Festival - Miami / Ft. Lauderdale
Every year, February through March, the Florida Renaissance Festival allows guests to have a glimpse of life back in the 16th century. Featuring a large selection of performers and artisan vendors, kids especially will love the Exclusive Kid’s Kingdom–an enchanted playground. In addition to special events, the festival will feature jugglers, guided village tours, musical stylings from Celtic Mayhem, and more! Patrons will also have the opportunity to try medieval food from around the world, such as spinach pie from the Mediterranean, or a traditional English shepherd's pie!
Gasparilla Music Festival - Tampa / St. Pete
Gasparilla Music Festival brings a weekend of music and food in February. The event features musical acts from a wide variety of genres on several stages and cuisine from the region’s top restaurants like Big Red BBQ, Cafe Hey, Ichicoro and Ella's Folk Art Cafe to name a few. Produced by the Gasparilla Music Foundation, which also supports music education through the Recycled Tunes program, it gives donated instruments to schools and music programs at drives throughout the year.
Gasparilla Pirate Festival - Tampa / St. Pete
Over 750 swashbuckling pirates aboard the pirate ship Jose Gasparilla “invades” Tampa Bay in January, launching a packed day of pirate-themed events. A celebration with a four-mile long Parade of Pirates continues into the evening for the Gasparilla Pirate Fest Street Festival with live music, food, and entertainment. Guests are encouraged to dress in pirate-themed garb and join in on the fun!
Miami Film Fest - Miami / Ft. Lauderdale
The Miami Film Festival, a world-class platform for International & Ibero-American films, emerges each year in March. Showcasing the work of the world’s established filmmakers to the diverse cosmopolitan community of Miami, more than 100 films from many countries are screened each year.
SHINE Mural Festival - Tampa / St. Pete
St. Pete’s biggest art event returns each October. This internationally known festival is one of the most celebrated events in the city of St. Pete. With a mix of local, national and international artists, this festival draws a huge crowd. SHINE has received attention from around the world as one of the premier outdoor art exhibitions.
Street Painting Festival - Palm Beach
Check out the Lake Worth Beach Street Painting Festival in February. Lake and Lucerne avenues come alive with the colorful, imaginative creations of chalk artists. This is the country’s largest street painting event that includes more than 600 artists of all ages. Watch as they turn the pavement into a work of art! This tradition of street painting hails back to 16th century italy when local artists would use their chalks to transform pavement into a makeshift canvas, street painting has retained its appeal through the centuries.
South Beach Wine & Food Fest - Miami / Ft. Lauderdale
It’s the most indulgent time of year! Mark your calendars, because the SOBE Wine & Food Fest is back this year. Four days of gourmet food & wine from 400 top chefs, winemakers & culinary personalities. Expect to rub elbows with celebrities like Pharrell Williams, Al Roker, Jet Tila, Dwyane Wade & local chefs such as Timon Balloo, Amaris Jones, Tung Nguyen & many more.
SunFest - Palm Beach
SunFest, Florida’s waterfront festival typically runs from April to May. Located in Downtown West Palm Beach, you can celebrate art and music with over 50 performers, 100 artists that expand three blocks of the Art District, tons of art installations and food vendors, there’s something for everyone!
Ultra Music Fest - Miami / Ft. Lauderdale
Ultra Music Festival at Bayfront Park in Miami returns each year in March. What’s known as the world’s premier electronic music celebration, which began more than 20 years ago, has grown into one of the largest musical celebrations on the planet. With some of the electronic music’s biggest names performing such as, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren and Kygo. Superstar David Guetta and Sofi Tukker will also be on hand, as well as familiar faces Tiesto, Alesso and Martin Garrix.
