Mango Madness Exhibition Opening

The Studios of Key West's annual summer exhibition is an expression of gratitude – for the artists that inspire us, and for the island that inspires them. That generosity is gloriously embodied in the fruit we love like no other in the Keys. Mangoes fill our trees each spring until they grow pregnant with their weight, thumping to the ground in summer to be gathered, enjoyed and shared with neighbors like golden currency. Every member of The Studios is invited to participate, and the result is a bounty of creativity in every form and style imaginable. We don’t ask artists to make work about mangoes exactly, but we do hope that the work brings them – and you – similar joy.

Friends new and old are invited to join us for June's First Thursday Open House event, when we keep our lights on late and throw our doors open to celebrate the newest work in our galleries. Stop in to say hello, sip one of Perry Arnold's World Famous Mango Margaritas while enjoying live music at the rooftop bar, tour the third floor local working artist studios and see the just-installed members exhibition in the Sanger, XOJ, Zabar Project and Zabar Lobby Galleries featuring over 100 works of art by local Florida Keys artists. It's sure to be a fantastic night celebrating the beginning of mango season in the Keys! Books & Books @ The Studios is the next stop, where you can browse the latest titles and catch up with old friends.
