Presented in partnership with the Embassy of Finland and the Finnish Film Foundation, Finntastic! New Films from Finland is a showcase of recent Finnish cinema focused on outstanding new work by up-and-coming and established directors.
The series opens on July 13 with award-winning short films, spotlighting the diversity of Finnish storytelling. The program also features the long awaited biopic celebrating the life of artist and comic book creator Tove Jansson, the beloved creator of Moomins (TOVE). There is something for everyone including a dark romantic comedy (AURORA), a bittersweet comedy (GAMES PEOPLE PLAY), a whimsical children's adventure (SIHJA THE REBEL FAIRY) and for the brave souls, a horror psychological thriller (HATCHING).
