Seraphic Fire's ambitious and daring 22nd season features seven programs that pair beloved classics with unknown gems of Western music's major eras. Experience the modern world premiere of O, Virgo, cui salutem by Marianna Martines (student of Haydn and Porpora, duet partner of Mozart), delve deeply into the incredible contributions of contemporary Jewish composers, hear the works of Clara and Robert Schumann side by side, and journey to the Spanish court of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, where he assembled the Capilla Flamenca: the most famous choir of the Renaissance.
The season opens with a 75-minute program that traverses the entirety of Western music history—from the monks of the 9th century to today—including Gregorio Allegri's famous Miserere. And, of course, we'll see the annual return of our GRAMMY-nominated, Billboard-chart-topping Seraphic Fire Christmas, hosted by one of your favorite guest conductors, Anthony Trecek-King.
