Join us for the opening reception of Virgil Ortiz: Slipstream from 7PM-9PM.



Through compelling ceramics, costumes, videos, photography, and augmented reality overlays, visionary artist, designer, and enrolled member of Cochiti Pueblo (New Mexico) Virgil Ortiz explores and reimagines the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 ... five hundred years later. Using the Indigenous concept of slipstream—in which time, space, technology, and science fiction are fluidly combined—Ortiz reimagines the rebellion's protagonists as futuristic characters, posing provocative questions about the past and inviting us to think about our roles and responsibilities in shaping the future.
