Percussion Consort: A Journey Beyond Time

Joshua Conyers, with his “deliciously honeyed baritone,” performs a cycle of African American spirituals, including “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” and “Go Down, Moses” (Opera News). From the art circles of Paris’ Montmartre comes French groundbreaker Germaine Tallieferre who pairs piano and percussion to pay tribute to France’s revered composer, Jean-Philippe Rameau. Gemma Peacocke’s Death Wish confronts “how we are all bound and driven by forces both within and beyond ourselves.”
